2011: It’s All About Gratitude

Each year, we try to weigh in on the things that happened to us in its entirety. We look back on the things that drastically changed the course of our lives. Of course, we make resolutions for the mistakes we committed to make the next more fruitful.

They say that different folks have different strokes. Some may think that 2011 was their year and more may say otherwise. Recent deaths and calamities take its toll in the challenging and crazy year 2011 was. I’ve yet to be grateful for everything that this year brought me.

My dad spent the holidays with us after years of spending it abroad. Knowing that the family is still together despite my parents seperation makes things bearable for all of us. We are happier than we have ever been and its one of the best gifts for me as a grown-up.

It was the year that I finally broke out of my teenage years. I intially cringed of the thought of being a twenty year-old, but it had its perks. It was memorable because I was finally grasping the idea of maturity and the learning process that goes with it. I didn’t meet a lot of new friends, as I have always had the trouble to make new ones. But I am so grateful that the friends I have for so long are still loyal and true as I’ve known them to be. I PROMISE TO PUSH THROUGH ALL THE PLANS THAT ARE YET TO HAPPEN.

Being blessed is a matter of how you see yourself in life, with or without the material things. Be rich in spirit and kindness. And most importantly, practice gratitude. Make 2012 your year, no matter who you are.
